Succesful launch “Corredor Azul” on 8th World Water Forum

Our partner Wetlands International succesfully launched the “Corredor Azul” programme during the 8th World Water Forum. This Forum was held in Brazil from 18-23 March 2018 and is the world’s biggest water-related event. It contributes to the dialogue of the decision-making process on water at the global level, seeking to achieve the rational and sustainable use of this resource and had more than 200 sessions and debates about themes related to water.

The Corredor Azul programme encompasses the fourth largest wetland system in the world, the heart of which is the Paraná River and the Paraguay River in South America. This system is unique because it flows from the humid tropics and enters the sea in humid temperate regions, making it one of the planet’s richest biodiversity hotspots.
